Barcelona knocked holders Sevilla out of the Copa del Rey on the away goals rule on Tuesday after a battling 0-0 draw at the Nou Camp.
Frank Rijkaard’s side, who drew 1-1 in last week’s first leg, were put under heavy pressure by Sevilla but held their nerve to book their place in the quarter-finals.
Barca will now meet the winners of Wednesday’s tie between Recreativo Huelva and Villarreal.
With both sides missing several key players as they had either been called away on African Nations Cup duty or were suspended and injured, the quality of the game naturally slipped a notch or two from their previous encounters.
Real Madrid will look to overcome a 2-1 deficit when it hosts Real Mallorca on Wednesday, when the other five second-leg ties are played.
