Defending champion AC Milan and Chelsea reached the Champions League knockout stages on Wednesday.
Milan edged into the second round with a 1-1 draw with Benfica and Chelsea advanced with a 4-0 victory at Rosenborg.
Milan still went through because Celtic scored a last-minute goal to beat Shakhtar Donetsk 2-1 in Glasgow.
Didier Drogba scored the first two of Chelsea’s goals at Rosenborg, giving the Blues 11 points from five games.
Despite the heavy loss, Rosenborg stays second with seven points because Schalke and Valencia drew 0-0.
Two other qualifying groups are wide open.
Nine-time champion Real Madrid still have work to do after losing 3-2 at Werder Bremen with Group C now wide open after Olympiakos won 2-1 at Lazio, who could still qualify despite being bottom.
Liverpool continued their revival with a 4-1 home win over Porto with Fernando Torres scoring his first two Champions League goals.
While Besiktas beating Marseille 2-1 also boosted the English side in Group A and kept the Turks in the hunt.
