Brazil thumped Ecuador 5-0 on Wednesday night in a qualifying game for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
Milan’s midfielder Kaka scored two goals. Vagner Love, Ronaldinho and Elano also scored for Brazil, which opened qualifying Sunday with a 0-0 tie with Colombia.
Brazil, a five-time World Cup champion, is the only country to have qualified for every Cup since the competition began in 1930.
The selecao now have four points from their first two games in the South American group.
Colombia played out their second goalless draw in three days, away to Bolivia. Chile beat neighbours Peru 2-0 in Santiago and Paraguay battled to a 1-0 win over Uruguay in Asuncion.
Argentina lead the tables with six point. Gabriel Milito and Lionel Messi scored first-half goals to lead Argentina over Venezuela 2-0 Tuesday night.
