Five-time European champion Liverpool, Lazio and Glasgow Rangers qualified Tuesday night for the European Champions League’s 32-team field.
Liverpool, which lost to AC Milan in last year’s final, beat visiting Toulouse 4-0 as Dirk Kuyt scored twice in the last three minutes following goals by Peter Crouch and Sami Hyppia.
Liverpool won the home-and-home, total-goals series 5-0 and joined English rivals Manchester United and Chelsea in the first round.
Lazio rallied for a 3-1 victory at Dinamo Bucharest to win its third-round qualifying series on 4-2 aggregate. Rangers played a 0-0 tie at Red Star Belgrade to advance on 1-0 aggregate.
They will joined Italian rivals AC Milan, Internazionale of Milan and AS Roma in the group stage.
Rangers held on for a goalless draw away to Red Star Belgrade to clinch a 1-0 win over the two legs and book their place.
Eleven more games will be played Wednesday. Four-time European champion Ajax Amsterdam trails 1-0 going into its game at Slavia Prague.
